Life at The Redeemer

We are thrilled to share that our amazing Year 5 pupils recently participated in a day of training in Emergency First Aid! 🌟 This valuable experience equipped our pupils with crucial life-saving skills 💪🩹

Not only did our pupils learn important first aid techniques, but they also gained confidence in their ability to help others in times of need. 🚑🌡️ It was inspiring to see them engage with the training and embrace this valuable opportunity for personal growth and skill development. 📚✨

Easter Service 2024

Alleluia! Christ is risen.

May this Easter fill your heart with peace, joy, and the enduring promise of His love. Happy Easter from all of us at The Redeemer Church of England Primary School

Christian Aid Big Sing

🌍✨ We are incredibly proud of our talented pupils from The Redeemer Church of England Choir who participated in the Christian Aid Big Sing at Blackburn Cathedral! Alongside other schools, our students dedicated their voices to raise awareness of global injustices through soulful singing and heartfelt prayers. 🎶🙏

🎹 A special shoutout and massive well done to Mr Ainsworth and Mrs Woodhouse for their outstanding performances on the piano and guitar during the event! 🎸👏

Year 3 Stoneage Experience

Our Year 3 pupils had an immersive Stone Age experience this term, with the arrival of Scuff and Twig, who set up camp on our school field. Pupils were provided exceptional experiences that left them feeling as if you they had stepped back in time to the Stone Age.

Engineer Visit

Attention all budding engineers! Last week, we had a special visit from the incredible Judson Smythe, technical director at MGS Technical Plastics. He shared his fascinating journey as an engineer and inspired our children to think big and dream even bigger!

Let's see if this inspires our children to become the engineers of tomorrow! Who knows, their creations might just change the world!

A Special Thank You to Blackburn Hawks !

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing team at Blackburn Hawks for their incredibly generous donation. They have kindly provided us with a match-worn shirt to add to our school's incredible memorabilia wall!

By showcasing the memorabilia from teams such as Blackburn Hawks, we want to encourage our students to explore different sports, discover local teams, and pursue their dreams on and off the field.

Christians Against Poverty Fundraiser

👥 Pupils from our school Ethos Team had a fantastic time attending the Christians Against Poverty (CAP) fundraiser at Ewood Park! Helping to spread the word and supporting an incredible cause to help those struggling with debt. 💪

🔹 Throughout the event, our brilliant Pupils informed everyone in attendance about the remarkable work that CAP does, through a presentation and role-play.

💙 We're extremely proud of our Ethos Team for being passionate ambassadors of such an important cause. They showcased their dedication and commitment by representing our school and helping to raise awareness for this fantastic charity 🎉

Blackburn Rovers Visit

Careers Week 2024

In the Autumn Term, we asked parents/carers and friends of The Redeemer if they could visit our pupils to discuss how school and education has helped them in their careers. We had an overwhelming response, which meant all our pupils from Reception through to Year 6 were able to hear about a range of different careers.

Throughout Careers Week we looked at life beyond school and we hope that this week has helped create memories that will nurse inspirational dreams and goals for their futures.

Mini Police

We would like to thank Blackburn and Darwen Police for an amazing opportunity for our Year 5 and 6 students to be a part of the incredible Mini Police program.

Led by our staff and supported by the police, the Mini Police initiative has provided an invaluable learning experience for the children. They have learned about policing issues, and have gained crucial insights into how to stay safe in our community and our Mini Police volunteers will also have the exciting chance to contribute to local priorities.

On Friday, our school community gathered together to pay tribute to the brave service men and women who have devoted their lives to protecting our freedom. We were fortunate to have Geoff Hutchinson, our school Governor, join us to share why it is crucial that we must remember and pray for peace.

A special thank you also to Anne for her bagpipe performance, which helped to create a really beautiful atmosphere in our school hall and Church.

Following our Service of Remembrance, Mr Hutchinson delivered workshops to our KS2 classes.

In preparation for Remembrance Day, Wayne Hester and David Mcleary from VLHM have set up a remarkable Military History Display at our school

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Wayne Hester and David Mcleary from the Veterans Living History Museum for creating an extraordinary Military History Display at our school, just in time for Remembrance Day.

This impressive exhibition has been carefully curated to educate and inspire our pupils about the significance of wearing poppies each year. Through the display, they will gain a deeper understanding of Remembrance Day as a symbol of both honouring our brave service men and women and embracing the hope for a peaceful future.

The different items represent the many different activities that we are involved in throughout our day, and how sometimes our lives can feel very, very busy! But Mr Devine talked to our school today during Worship about how even when everything seems so busy we must remember that God is like the water that spreads out and fills every gap with His Love and that God is there in everything we do, in every situation. He is present in the good times and in the bad, in the loud moments and in the silence.

The generosity and kindness of Ryan Rimmer from JDR Groundcare, means our School and Church are blessed to have our own live Christmas Tree that will help spread Christmas cheer to our school and the community we serve for many years to come. This will also allow us to be better Stewards of the Earth for our Heavenly Father through our sustainability for the future by reducing the number of trees cut down at this time of year.

We have recently installed Impero in our new computer suite, this award-winning software will help enhance and empower our teaching of computing to guide pupils through different processes by mirroring the teacher's computer onto their own, sharing websites, modeling different computing skills and enabling the teacher to carefully monitor how pupils are progressing and where they need to intervene and offer extra support!

Here is our demo of our screen being shared across the Computer Suite network!
