Church School Distinctiveness

At The Redeemer, we are proud of our identity as a Church of England school. Our Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do, shaping our relationships, our worship and the way we live out our school vision each day.

Our daily collective worship takes place in St Bartholomew’s Church, providing a sacred space where our school family comes together in prayer, reflection and celebration. This special connection with our parish church strengthens our Christian identity and our place within the wider Christian community. Our Christmas and Easter services, Nativity performances and celebrations of key Christian events provide wonderful opportunities for our whole school family, parents and parish community to come together and celebrate our faith.

In 2026, The Redeemer and St Bartholomew’s Church celebrated 20 years of friendship, partnership and shared purpose. This special service was an opportunity to give thanks for the strong relationship between our school and church, whilst looking forward to our continued journey together. During the service, we proudly launched our shared school and church vision, bringing together our individual visions into one united statement:

“Together in the Light of Christ, we know, show and grow in God’s love.”

This shared vision reflects our commitment to working together, strengthening our Christian community and helping children and adults to grow in faith and love.

Rooted in 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love,” we believe that agape love – selfless, unconditional love – can be seen and felt across our school. It is reflected in the way we care for one another, celebrate our differences, support those in need and help everyone to flourish.

We are unapologetically proud of our Christian identity, welcoming all as part of God's diverse family and ensuring that, through believing, loving, caring and sharing, everyone grows in the Light of Christ.
